The Air-Pot Team
The Australian co-founder has now lived in Scotland for more than half his life and calls both Australia and Scotland home.
He studied at Ryde School of Horticulture in Sydney and for one year at RBG Kew. His background is in landscape design, and when he came to live in the UK in 1987, he introduced the Australian ‘Root Control Systems’ (as they were then known) to UK and Europe.
With his wife and Co-Director, Suzie, he founded Caledonian Tree Company in 1990, initially selling imported products from Australia.
UK manufacture started in 1996 and with it the ability to change and improve the product. He is always looking for ways to make the product even better.
Suzie read French at Exeter University and went on to work in public relations in London and Sydney.
A native of Scotland, she was the original motivation for Jamie’s move to the northern hemisphere. The seeds for a new business inspired by his landscape experience in Australia were sown and, together they set up the company.
In the early days, Suzie initiated the trials of the system and got the ball rolling, while Jamie continued to be a landscaper.
Nowadays, she is mainly office based, and generally keeps a supervisory eye on all the menfolk!
