Schipol airport trial

How can we improve the environment of communities living near airports?

This is the question addressed by the AMS Institute, at a project near Schipol Airport, where they’re investigating the impact of noise, air quality and heat stress on the local community.

One of the test spaces – created with shipping containers and concrete slabs to emulate a barren urban environment – has been filled with trees in Air-Pot containers, and their effect on the environment is being measured. The trees are thriving despite their unique surroundings and we are eagerly looking forward to the outcomes of this project.
